Smudge
C'mon how cute is he?
and eyes, he has eyes.
If you don't know the story of Smudge
read about him Here and Here.
By mistake I left 2 windows open
last night and woke up this am
to a very cold house and discovered that
in the night I had grabbed my robe
from the foot of the bed
and added it to my covers for warmth!
(just kidding)
Wasn't it just last week I was whining about the heat?
My handy guy Brit and I worked in
the yard all day yesterday, clearing fall debris
and restringing lights and my muscles were sore
by 6 pm. Add in the chilled air all night long
and I am walking slowly today and
a bit hunched over to boot.
Attractive look, don't you imagine?
(local gals, this guy works so hard
and can repair, fix, clean just about anything)
The yard is ready for the potluck, so ladies bring your
sweaters and there are always the
tables indoors if you're a wuss.
She says throwing down the "tough broad" gauntlet.
There are 49 days remaining until
my chicks return home
source
and you cannot imagine how my heart quickens just
thinking about it. All their favorite foods
will be prepared and late night movies will be a
constant, and maybe a short trip somewhere,
and now wine in the
evenings since DD will be 21.
I am blessed, and I am ever so grateful.

You know Z.....I so wish I lived close to you....I would love to participate in your classes AND your pot-luck.
Stay warm.

A few cooler days here also and it does feel good! I'm ready for some holiday time with my girls.
Smudge's eyes would do me in every time, I'm afraid... I understand exactly how you feel about your baby chicks coming home. There is nothing like having the unit all back together for awhile. Ann
Smudge sure is a cutie pie.
Smudge is adorable!! But he'll always be Houdini to me....Can't believe his original owner didn't launch a massive search effort. Guess that says a lot for him being better off in his new forever home....Oh, I so need a Brit.....Let the countdown begin!! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
Sounds like your sistas are coming for lunch! Have fun!
Beautiful eyes, who could say no to a dog like that? It's cool here this afternoon, even with the sun shining - it's a very strange feeling.
I bet you can;t wait....how exciting for you Z..
Enjoy your garden party....lots of wine ok...
so so so very happy about Smudge's (the dog formerly known as Hairy Houdini) happy new life! What a great story. It's getting cold here in upstate NY, but no snow yet. I could use your handy fella here, btw. My hubby is always so busy.
Smudge looks pretty dapper!
When I do anything that requires bending over or contorting my back in any way, I also walk hunched over. I look like an old woman. Yikes.
Hey, just got my copy of WWC today (I won a subscription) and I see your name in the table of contents! Haven't reached your feature yet, but congratulations!

Smudge reminds me of an Ewoke (sp) from the Star Wars movie. Very cute! I am excited for you and your chicks. I know how much it means to you. Enjoy the anticipation! :) Kit
Ha, you are chilly! Welcome to our world :)
I wasn't sure how cold it got by you but I can imagine it's as cool as our nights have been if you wake up like this! Stay warm. And don't work too hard, you want to enjoy your party!!
XO,
Jane
Sounds like beautiful Fall days and that shifting of the seasons into the cozy time of year. I think it is the acceptace when you realize the seasons really have changed and once the acceptance comes then you can embrace the next phase. Good times. Can you ship that Brit off to portland for me please?? 8+)
YAH!!! They are coming home to roost!!!! Ah such grand times ahead!!!! So happy for you!!!
BTW - Smudge did clean up nicely. Well for a dog ;)
Purrs!

Smudge is quite the handsome chap!
Sending my best wishes on your yard party...I feel certain that it shall be quite grand indeed!

We had a cold blast come thru here too! 28 degrees this morning! How crazy it that! I am so excited for you to have your kids home soon!
It's been downright cold here lately. Today I was sporting my sweater dress, boots and fur vest:-)
So glad you have your "chicks" coming home to look forward to. We all need things like this to keep us motivated.
Thanks for your sweet comment on my window display. What a relief that is done:-)
xoxo
