Inspired by a doily garland
I don't know where it will eventually hang and
there is more of it than you see here.
I'm loving it and so glad it is made.
My favorite: I am amazed at what these women used to create.

You are a busy sewer and it is pretty. Where is it going? Have you measured it's length? ♥O
That is beautiful! What a gorgeous idea, I am always amazed at the time and effort women put into making the crocheted goodness now at the thrift store. I just found a doily that my 'bushie' made that is the picture of a deer, it is amazing! I think I want to frame it so that we can admire her handywork all of the time. I would love to know where you will end up hanging your banner. (inquiring minds need to know!) Theresa xoxo
Beautiful!
I love all these doilyes. I bought some this summer at an antique store and I could not believe how costly they were!!
This is a great idea.

Gorgeous; I so love doilies and the
eras they represent~
A very pretty doilie garland. I think I called it a wreath on your inspiration post, duh! Glad to see you have finished it. Love it.

You did a lovely job...this is such a creative idea! And the fact that you can display the doilies instead of tucking them away...fantastic!
XO,
Jane

It turned out beautiful and it's just such a clever way to display them as well. Nice job!
Great idea! I could see this as a sort of valance over curtains.

What a good idea! I have several doilies my Grandmother made and this would be a great way to have them out to enjoy all the time. Thanks for showing!

That is very pretty, I think they might look wonderful hanging in a window as well in lieu of a valance too, tami from the high street cottage
That is beautiful!!!
That is just gorgeous. It is so feminine and pretty. Great job!
Partying with you tonight.
Beauty! Such a great idea - I am seeing one in my house at Christmas - right next to my newly-painted Cromwell Grey fireplace mantel. This sure didn't take you long to put together!
Didn't take you long to get on that, at all! B-e-a-YOU-tiful, Z!
Just one word for this...GORGEOUS! All the hands that created these lovelies must be clapping right now!!!
big hugs
feels up lifting to create something out of things we have, does it not? it is lovely. Bestest,Denise
That's so pretty! I also enjoyed (bittersweet) your beautiful essay on your mother. I'd say you have a life lesson learned. So sad to think of the possibility that could have been had the illness not occurred. However, here you are, living life, being content, making art. Can't ask for much more than that! Congratulations on letting go and being grateful for what is rather than dwelling on what wasn't.
Take care,
Judy
I love the old-fashioned feel of this-it almost seemed like doiles had run their course-but this may bring them back!
Hi Suzan:) Your garland came out beautiful. That is going to look gorgeous any where you put it:)

Did I ever tell you I love your blog? the name and every thing about it.
I can't believe you live 2 blocks from Anthropologie store that would be hard but you could check for sale prices on something WE want like that script writing bedding set. LOL
Thanks for visiting my blog !

Also can you believe when I got home from work last night I was to tired to open my treasures, tonight for sure
I do remember those doilies. And a certain stormy morning, if I'm not mistaken. It reminds me of young girls in white dresses, holding hands and dancing.
Brenda
Very pretty idea, something to do with all those doilies I collected for that quilt I'm no longer interested in making, ha! I missed your first post about this and the link to 'My Hearts Ease', looks like another fun place to visit, off I go.
Susanne.
This is so cuuuuute! I love everything behind it in the hutch as well. All eye candy.
