Project Genesis 5/1/11

WELCOME BACK !

Keeping it simple today so as not
 to scare off any newcomers.
I recently learned of this organization
via PBS (yay PBS!)

Every Mother Counts is an advocacy and mobilization campaign to increase education and support for maternal and child health.
Every Mother Counts seeks to engage new audiences to better understand the challenges and the solutions while encouraging them to take action to improve the lives of girls and women
worldwide.

There is an important film No woman No cry
coming up this month,
and we as women need to care about this.
Mothers Day is May 8th.
All Mothers deserve equal care.

Think you cannot affect change?
Donate your old cell phones to
provide a link for mothers and
health care professionals
Now it's your turn..
teach us, inform us, change us...

Hi Suzan,
Thanks for the info. I know we have some old cell phones down in our basement. I'm going to go looking for them.

Noto nly is it a great cause, but if those cell phones end up in landfill, those baterries seep and leak and are very harmful.

Hi, I like this so much.
So true, as well in your preceeding post that all disasters, and terrible things can overwhelm - but it is true that small actions matter.

Thanks for the quotes, they have a lot of power.

I was at Child in Harmony and noticed she had recycled art, I was thinking of sending you two ideas from my work at daycare, but I'm not very saavy with this media, so not sure how to do it. I might try and send it to you from Google Reader.

I've been following you for about 2 months, but I think this is my first comment. I love what you're doing here.

Great idea, I've not heard of that before. We recently donated all our old cell phones to a local shelter for abused women.

Happy Mother's Day!
Susanne.

Suzan - what a wonderful cause and idea. One I perhaps might not have considered. Thank you for asking me to participate and I look forward to becoming more educated in the process. Ann
