The Graduate

Darling daughter

Moving in day at first dorm at NYU Aug 09
How was I able to leave my baby girl alone in NYC?
Right after this shot, I hugged her goodbye,
 and while weeping...loudly.....I dragged
two massive empty suitcases down 25 city blocks
back to my hotel
We moved bedding, pots and pans, dishes,
everything she needed in those suitcases I brought,
and her clothes etc in her own bags

It all goes/went so fast
But look at her now

Completed her courses with honors,
a semester early last December,

but "walking" with her friends from Tisch this Spring

She'll be staying in NYC
She is a New Yorker now,
and I don't blame her

Strong, independent, so loving and kind
an amazing woman
Talented Director and Artist

my baby girl

If I could have a re-do of my life, I would choose NYC to have lived in also during my 20's and 30's. how exciting!

So beautiful....... sigh..... I know that walk away very well. One of the hardest things I ever had to do. Leaving my girl with her teacher on her first day of kindergarten, and then leaving her at UNCSA. But, to leave her in NY? I don't know if I could have ever been that brave! I know how proud you must be, two more years and I will be feeling the same way!!! Congrats, you did good, mom :)

Leaving a daughter at college for the first time is one of the hardest things I ever did. Painful, despite the excitement and pride.
Congrats to your Dear Daughter and her great achievements. May her life in NYC be absolutely wonderful.
That is a fabulous photograph of her, too.

Oh Suzan! She's beautiful and a big congratulations to her!! I can imagine how hard it was for you to leave her there! I spent 5 weeks and NYC as a college student and wonder how my parents left me there for even that short period. And, no cell phone then.
