A Trip To The Market

so i dragged myself out to store for dog food, since i could not feed the pooches another day of torn up bagel, egg and dog treats as their dinner... with hair that looked like i had stuck my tongue in a socket..and i am not imagining it, people actually stared at me and turned to take another glance as i passed..wild hair with perhaps a few dry leaves matted in, flannel shirt, heavy jacket, thrice wrapped scarf around neck in 65 degrees, no makeup, deep black crescent moons beneath my eyes, a cart piled to overflowing with cough syrups, kleenex and vicks vapo rub, and frozen dinners....buy 10 for reduced price of 1.88ea ... hacking and sneezing with wadded kleenex stuffed up my sleeves and in my hand.... changing the direction they were walking and making a wide arc as i passed..
the clerk actually stepped back from the counter and used a pencil to type in the items and laid the receipt on the counter rather than get within 12 " of my kleenex holding hand

i think i may be ill

OH NO! I am on the tail end of a sever cold, I thought you were describing me for a minute! Between blowing my nose every minute and hacking...it isn't a pretty picture. Drink lots of hot tea and REST!! maybe throw a hot toddie in there a couple of times..
Big hug and lots of love! Take care!

Oh my, and good grief! Take care of yourself. Looks aside, I think everyone is avoiding anyone who coughs, sneezes or is holding kleenix. We are trying to stay housebound so as to avoid walking through germ laden air!!!! Chicken soup is recommended by the Mayo Clinic-------

Yikes, Z! Even though your "zombie apocalypse" appearance might have frightened people, we have all been there at some point. I am glad you had the bit of strength to make it to the store. Get well quick! Hugs from Robin (though I wouldn't touch you with a ten-foot pole if I was actually near you, lol)

sounds like you have it bad.

dont forget to rub the bottom of your feet with the vicks .. my grandmother believed in it and it does help control the coughing.

get well soon.

Oh poop! I'm so sorry you are feeling so bad. It sounds awful :( Sounds like you need to teach Howie to drive and grocery shop.....wouldn't that be helpful! Ah well, it was a thought. Hoping you start feeling better again very soon!

I'm sorry to admit that I actually chuckled at the end of this post, but honestly I too have looked like this and convinced myself that since I live in a small 'hick' town I fit right in... I most certainly did not! Even the people who regularly shop in their jammies looked better than me! I feel for you, I hope that you are feeling so much better today. love, t.xoxo
