Reds This Year

There is some red this year at oldgreymare.
I adore these House of Hatten ornaments -
the Twelve Days of Christmas and more.

I used a few last year in the den, but this year I did the large tree,
and added more figures throughout the room.

The vintage green wagon in front will be loaded with gifts.

There are whites everywhere else.

With burlaps and browns,
creams and whites,
touches of snow and glitter.

Pinecones, more snow, angels, birds...
reflections, candlelight...
tis the season...
happy happy joy joy
Dearest son Ben will be home for Thanksgiving.
Making his famous stuffing he says.
Mama happy.

Oh, I'm glad Ben is getting home for Thanksgiving - yay!
I have on my to-do list to figure out how to shape my carpenters ruler into a star like that. Please show a close-up of the topper on the red tree. It looks like it might be Santa on the moon but I can't quite make it out.
Your home is just lovely and you are inspiring me to get my decorating started early this year. It is my habit, left over from when my children were small, to wait until the 10th to put up the tree so the excitement was more "condensed" and didn't escalate into stomach aches. I don't know why it hasn't occured to me that I don't have any reason to wait anymore. If I'm going to the trouble then why not enjoy it longer!

I feel like you did it all for me. Beautiful decorations and decorating. Our house has a light living room and a dark (paneled) living room so I get to be colorful in one room and white & silver in another. Then there is the tree in the kitchen and ... I love this time of year. Thanks for sharing your work with us. I am noticing your walls - have you posted on them (can't help but notice they aren't builders' white).
