Twelve days of Christmas

12 days of Christmas tree sits right next to my desk

A drummer drumming

A lord a leaping

A swan a swimming, a partridge hidden in the tree,
and a peek at a lady dancing

A few shelf sitters and danglers here and there
 playing in the room

On the other side of the room, another skinny tree
tucked next to the bookcase.

Lots of Santas and elves

The ornaments and figures here are all
from the House of Hatten
designed by Denise Calla in the late 80's.
My collection is quite large,
too many pieces for this tiny room
but I love them, so I display as many as I can.
I hope someday one of the kids
will want the collection.
Meanwhile until 2012 I can enjoy them
each time I sit down at the computer.

The bedrooms are also finished,
what remains is the main living room
 and dining room.
That takes a full day, oops,
it takes today, so I had better get started.
In case you are wondering I put up
11 trees this year
3 - 3'
2 - 4'
3 - 5'
2 - 7'
1 - 8'
but who is counting?

It is remarkable how you can have all those trees up and decorated and your home does not look cluttered and clustered and crammed. Everything looks so very charming and cozy. I love your book shelves/book case, and I do believe I spied with my little eye the Harry Potter books! I enjoy the glimpses you give us of your delightful home!

I love your decorations....they are perfect. Fun but tasteful.
It is my favourite time of the year but, I don't put our decorations up until the second week of December !!
I will look forward to each and every post that you do on the lead up to Christmas. XXXX

I am coveting not just your Christmas decorations, but your bookcases and books, not to mention the extremely cool ladder! I have to make it through Thanksgiving before concentrating on Christmas, but I know you have some special events to motivate you. Just fantastic! Ann

Z, that shot of the book case and the skinny tree is magical. Eleven trees? I think I have done something when I put up two and drag all my stuff out. I bow in the presence of greatness. O

Beautiful. We only do two trees. I'm looking forward to decorating after Thanksgiving. Right now I'm off to play with my camera and see if I can take pictures that don't show the dust - if I can't fix the camera I'll have to break down and actually do a bit of housework. Your photos are so inspiring. Enjoy this week. Joy

This is incredibly beautiful, Suzan! I love the shelf danglers. And all the sparkle and shine. You did a wonderful job...I can imagine how long this must take, but all worth it. So magical!

Jane

Oh, but for a home that could accommodate 11 trees....of any size! More so, the amazing gift you have to do what you do with them. It's purely and simply magical....I'm in Christmas love (and that's the best kind you know!) Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
