Not a Hurricane

No, this is not the aftermath of Irene.
This is prep for a garage sale tomorrow.
No, it was not all mine, not even close.
Jessica McClintock dresses, size 4 Yikes

Several gals joined in and it started piling up.
Preview night was this evening. Friends on my mailing list
come early to shop and get 1st dibs..
Tomorrow at 6 am we start hauling tables out into the driveway more and stage the tables and pull out the clothes racks and drink lots of Starbucks frappacinos.
I was going to rework tables after they were decimated this evening but I'm tuckered out.

Looking at this makes me crazy,
my perfectly organized garage.
Justice is checking it out as you can see.
Howie is scared of it all.
I think about a third is gone already.
$$$$$ We made some moola tonight!

Almost everything of mine that is left over goes to
 Goodwill immediately after the sale.
AS for the rest....
The rules are : if you bring it down to my house it must
leave with you, no really, so by 4:00 my cars will be back where they belong  and orderliness will reign once more.

Why do I show you this mess? It sure isn't pretty.
But as much as I hate doing it,
it is far easier than what many are facing this weekend.
My heart and prayers are with all those facing Irene,
including my kids, Laura's daughter, Carole and George,
Debra and her kids..and so many more I care about.
Stay safe all of you.
See you all safe and well on the other side of Irene.
I'm naming my garage hurricane Julia;
they go in alpha order don't  they?

PLEASE put your thinking caps on.
Goodness knows this planet needs help!

Dear Z,
What a lot of good stuff !! I hope that you make lots of money from it and have nothing left.
I read your comment over at Carole's and hope that your children stay safe. I see that it is now a category 1 but that's still bad isn't it ? We don't get hurricane's over here.....some high winds of 90+ but that's rare.
Here's hoping that Carole and George and everyone else get away with as little damage as possible.
Will be thinking of your children and Carole and George over here in the UK.
Best of luck tomorrow. XXXX

All I can say right now is HOLY COW! That's a lot of stuff!
My daughter had a yard sale in July to help reach her goal for the race she was running and made $1100 the first day! Most was donated by friends of hers who wanted to see her reach her goal. It was so great to see her reach it.

If that's what's LEFT, I'd have loved to see what you started out with!! Probably a very good thing I don't live within driving distance....way to much stuff would have been coming home with me!! I so wish we had tag sales around here that sold something other than baby clothes!! Hey....I spy a little ironstone pitcher in there....you can't squeeze that into your wonderful collection?? ;o) Good luck with the sale and the after-Julia clean up. My thoughts and prayers for everyone in Irene's path.....Hugs & Blessings ~ Robin

Size FOUR?!? That's disgusting. I don't think I was EVER a size four. Sheesh. Maybe Romeo could wear a size four, but sure as heck not me. Did I mention disgusting?

Praying for your kids and many others.....

Hugs,

Suzan, I was tempted to pop in to your tag sale, but when the kiddos arrived here we got really busy and I think we've done just about everything on the list I made from your suggestions. Even Red Rock Canyon today in spite of the heat - it wasn't bad at all - there was a breeze. Thanks again for your helpful suggestions - we had fun on the strip and off! Checked out a couple of those neighborhood casinos and found we liked them very much. Hmmmm. Idea for next time. We were fortunate that Irene decided to ignore Florida! Ann
