BE STILL MY HEART

My close friends will tell you I do not like
hearts. Oh, at one time back in the 80's,
I couldn't get enough of them.
I had them in metal, wire, in wreaths and wood,
all thanks to Mary Emmerling.
Then suddenly a self imposed boycott,
all hearts banished.
Arm chair psychology could steer you toward a reason.
I <3  Hearts was my anthem.

Lately, for some unknown reason I
can't seem to stop making them.

These are scrumptious, heavy and nubbby,
antique french linen,
stuffed with very fragrant organic lavender,
weighted with lentils ( think bean bag feel)
 and topped with felted roses.

You just want to cradle them in your hands,
they feel comforting somehow.

I've tucked a couple into my pj drawer,
and one in the top drawer of my night stand.
Left open just a smidgen and the lavender
is right there aiding sleep.
Valentines Day beckons for remembrances,
maybe that is what has come over me.

I am selling these in
matched groups of three - 17.00
5" x 4 "

Email if you are interested.
(All sold out but more coming, please email.)
I'll be in the studio making heart garlands.
Finishing up a couple strands this evening.
Looks like the boycott is over.

Please join Kathleen at Faded Charm
for more White Wednesday gals.

How sweet these hearts are and a wonderful idea to fill them with lavander. It might be just what I need to help me sleep at night.

Hope all is well.

I am so not a heart (or butterfly) lover either but these beauties are making my heart beat just a little faster. I can always count on you to give me a little thrill!

Well that's a good ending to a boycott - they're so pretty! Love the simplicity of them z.
You're still working your way through the felt roses too I see - now pink is added to the mix - lovely!

Susan! I love these little felt roses you 've been making! I don't have the BH&G issues with the how-to's...do you have another link with the instructions? or maybe a tutorial?
Sweet little sachets!
Thanks

Oh my! I **LOVE** those! I had a lavender-filled heart once that was the same size and weight of a human heart - so if you are away from one you love, you can hold it to your heart and know they are there..

FYI:
The weight of the average human heart is 10-12 ounces for a male and 8-10 ounces for a female

Cup both of your hands in front of you and put the little finger edges against each other, and then imagine the heart taking up that space; that is the average size of the heart, depending on the size of the person.

:-)
