All Hallows Eve

Halloween is everywhere at Old Grey Mare.
My Gathering class on October 8th is approaching.
"All Hallows Eve" projects are
being completed and the kits are
nearly ready for students.

The script on the cone is Poe's "The Raven"

Menus are being planned.
This year a light breakfast AND dinner will be served!
I'm not being coy by only giving you a sneak peek.
Students need to be surprised.

The air will FINALLY be cool,
she says with fingers crossed.
The paints will be flying, papers will be snipped
and untold quantities of glues
 and mediums will be used.
Laughter, stories, sharing
with girlfriends, what could be better?
Wine comes with dinner hehe.

This year's advent canvas is 24x 30
A BIG GIRL ******WoOt
Can you tell I'm excited?

My film list  from my prior post
prompted many other's suggestions,
and I was happy to hear so many others are as devoted
to film as I am. I finally explained to several gals that
my favorite list is quite small here.
I only listed the  ones currently stacked on my desk, when in reality it is
quite extensive, probably in the 300's perhaps?

 "I am a film whore."
Yes, that is a quote from me.
When asked if I could recommend just one from the list
by a gal who had seen almost none of them,
 I had to recommend three..
so difficult for me; I love so many.

BUT.... from that extremely limited first list..I had to say
Creator - Same Time Next Year - My Favorite Year
Very few seem to know them.
I ADORE them, am thrilled each viewing,
 and still weep every time,
and I can tell you exactly when the tears will fall.
If you get the chance, give them a roll...
But don't forget also to see...
oh, don't get me started.....

Dear Z,
We don't celebrate Halloween quite as much as you do although, every year it seems to get bigger. We celebrate Guy Fawkes night on November 5th which, if you don't know, is all about when Guy Fawkes tried to blow up the Houses of Parliament in the 1500's, was unsuccessful but, King Charles declared that the 5th of November should be a public holiday and so it has remained ever since. There are fireworks and big bonfires and people burn effiges of Guy Fawkes on top of the bonfires.....anyway, sorry !!.....I've made it all about me and here you are, getting ready for Halloween. I know that you will make it a wonderful evening....if there's wine then it will be wonderful !! haha
Can't wait to see how it all turns out Z. XXXX

Your Halloween crafts are looking positively bewitching Z!!! That little cone and the hang tag are adorable!! What time's dinner being served?? ;o) Sounds like a wonderful time. Love "Same Time Next Year" and "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" tho I haven't seen either for a while...And I am partial to almost anything with Cary Grant....Never tire of looking at that face! But I have to admit, I haven't seen the majority of those on your favorites list....Yeah, I lead a very sheltered life....Have a great week ahead!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pumpkin on the 2nd photo! You don't sell these do you?
Oh "Next year same time"... I loved that movie. I had it recorded on video tape years ago and I haven't thought about it since we bought a dvd player and I threw away all the old tapes.
Some of my favorite movies are Out of Africa, the English patient, Bridges of Madison County, Into the wild.
I cannot believe your hoping for cooler air! We have 13°C (55°F according to my converter) here in Luxembourg (we had such a bad summer). We were in Morocco 2 weeks ago where we had 43°C (109°F), can you imagine! I expected the whole family to become ill, but so far so good...

Same Time Next Year has been one of my favourite movies since seeing it many, many years ago. Another of my favourites from late night movie watching while on summer vacation as a teenager was The World of Susie Wong - I've never met anyone who knows it, and it's excellent.Another favourite is Ladyhawke with Michelle Pfeiffer and Rutger Hauer - that's an excellent one, if you can get past the odd musical score. I love the movies...
Your projects look wonderful and two meals - lucky gals! I hope you post the advent after the class - will you consider selling instructions online after the fact?

I have so many favourites too.. that I often can't recall most of them.. I've been meaning to resurrect my 'Featured Flicks' series.. some have asked for it.. but I've been slack.. maybe soon

OH... I laughed at your Poe's The Raven.. You know what that made me think of? hahaha.. not film but tv.. I;m sure you will know...

So glad to hear you are a film freak as I call myself. But I tend to be a tad fussy I guess. My kids think the movies I like are strange. In my office at my day job I tend to watch on a regular basis the same few. I guess because I've seen them so much they become a background friend or something. The Holiday is one,Sahara,Fools Gold,Sorcerer's Apprentice,Six Days and Seven Nights. The kids get upset because on my birthday I make them watch( we do a basement drive-in move)...Abbott and Costello Meet The Mummy, and Hope and Crosby's Road to Bali!I love them....the little kiddos not so much haha!
Gosh movies like books are my escape....because construction which we do in my day life isn't always easy or pretty haha!!
