Tinsel Tree and TV

White Christmas was on last night.
Of course I had to watch it.
Of course I had to have busy hands.

All the parts ready to be added.
Styrofoam helping to steady it since I do
not have three hands. Tinsel is a silver green from
Bethany Lowe.

 Couple hours later....tree!

I will find a container today just right for my "made by my hand" tinsel tree. I can't stop thinking about making a 4' one.
Darling Daughter has promised to help make 50 Moravian stars that I bought from a Martha Stewart kit at least a decade ago, and they are in shades of tan, rose and white.
Perfect for a tinsel tree.

If it is to go up this year I had better hurry.
Wonder what is on TV this weekend?

I thought the trees looked so pretty last night
and had to get a shot or two.
This is the front room; a vaulted 2 1/2 story.

So, I have heat.
I also have roofers, not reindeer, clomping
on the roof doing repair from yesterday's installation,
and painters and drywall men in my closet
repairing the giant hole they cut to get the unit up there.
VERY noisy
Don't they know I have trees to make?

Oh so pretty! Sorry you have to put up with that mess and noise but at least when it's over, you will have a lovely, festive, toasty warm home!

Your tinsel tree is so sweet. I sat this evening watching The Today Show, making a garland out of copied music paper. I decided to do a small tree this year with only handmade ornaments. So far, it only has lights and the paper garland that needs to be just a bit longer. :/ Hope the heat is blasting for you today. Best wishes, Tammy

Dang it girl...I was watching White Christmas last night too, and it would have been so much more fun sitting next to you and having you teach me how to make a beautiful tinsel tree like that!!! You always amaze me with your talent of creating beauty. Not just that though...the fact that your home exudes so much warmth would make it such a treat to spend an evening there.
love to you...

YAY heat!! I love your tinsel tree, but I was shocked, I thought you did have 3 hands!! A 4' one would be gorgeous! Good luck with the stars, I have those kind of projects too. Your home looks just lovely, truly lovely. I usually keep the men in my closet a secret though ;) Theresa xoxo

EVERYTHING LOOKS SO FESTIVE AND WARM. (NO PUN INTENDED) TRULY BEAUTIFUL!

I REALY LIKE THE OLD MOVIE, "CHRISTMAS IN CONNETICUT", BUT I HAVE NOT SEEN IT THIS YEAR. THERE DOESN'T SEEM TO BE AS MANY OF THE OLD CHRISTMAS MOVIES BEING PLAYED AS IN OTHER YEARS!

Love that tinsel tree Z. My star gingerbread ornaments cut with vintage cutters would look splendid on such a tree. I do not craft much but I do bake. So cheered to know you have heat and are toasty and warm now. ♥O

Up on the roof top... repair men can be awfully singleminded!
Love the tree and look forward to the stars; the colours sound like they would be perfect.
You won the stocking, by the way, so please shoot me an email with your address and I will get it out to you!

Ha! I did good! I love your tinsel tree! LOVE it! But even though I loved it, I kept my whiskered lips off it. Nope, didn't sample a single needled branch. Told you I did good ;) Of course I think I saw Howie givin' it the eye.....

I hope mew has a VERY happy holiday - enjoy your time with your children!!!

How simple and pretty. If I hadn't seen your big tree, it would have been all I needed.

So happy you are warm and cozy again. TNT has the best holiday movies.

It's a miracle that you got anything done with White Christmas on! You are made of stronger stuff than I am...I am just misty all the way through it! And your tree is fabulous! Queen Victoria would have snapped it right up! ;}
