Festive

Festive isn't always about the grand decorated trees
or the sweeping vistas of snow covered forests.
Sometimes festive is the wee little touches,
the tiny treasures tucked here and there saying
here's a little holiday cheer for you.
At oldgreymare these are my favorites,
a small ornament hung from
a lamp key, or small touches added to a postal box to
say "Christmas".

The most humble of door knobs is not forgotten.

Festive.

Please join Chania at Razmataz for this week's challenge.

I love it Suzan! I am paring down this year too because it's just me here and space is limited so I am trying to find small but festive ways to bring the Christmas spirit into each room.
It's always great to see a great idea! Have a happy day!

Everyone has big, highly decorated trees that are always the focal point in the room. While pretty, I always look for the tiny ornaments tucked into an unexpected place. That tells me more about the person than the fully decorated mantel or buffet. You just know that these little pieces are special and deserve their own place. How I would love to see your home in person. It is absolutley gorgeous but so very homey and comfortable. Thanks for sharing!

It is the little things that create ambiance and make "festive" a feeling. That number cubby cabinet is gorgeous....beautifully styled as always.

You're right I think sometimes the smalles touch is the best. And you sure know how to do it. I heard through the 'blogvine' that your home was featured in a magazine? Which one. I must have missed it if you posted and I want to run out and get it:)

Joe says he used one of those cubbies when he first worked at the PO. Yours is far prettier.

Beautiful photo's and I like how you filled those post holes. What is the reason for the numbers, advent calender?

Just love that cubby! and all your baubles. And you are so right, just the little hints of sparkle or a silver ball tucked in a shoe... love to decorate like that.

I lust after that mail sorter Z! I know I haven't got a single solitary wall it could hang on, but I still adore it.
Would you come and save me from myself and decorate my tree for me?
Yours are gorgeous, and with you doing all the work, I could really get into it.
You could escape your cold house to my overly warm one. The bad thing about only having wood heat, is there is no way to manage the amount of heat the stove puts out. At least on our archaic(sp) one.
have a great week my friend. I hope to get more things made this week. Man, what a disaster the studio is right now. But at least it proves it not just for show.hehe
