54

The other day I was asked, "Just how many pitchers do you have?"

I had to count - well, there are 54

At one time I had many more, but several years ago
I purged all but these, my curvaceous favorites.
Some with, but most without,
raised designs of wheat or leaves.

Gentle curves with pouty lips.

Clustered in groups and lined in rows.

All shades of cream or white. A few now so weathered they
might be called "tan." Crazing of the mature ladies,
alerts to the aging of us all.

A few scallops here and there, these are the fancy girls.

From large to small and every size in between.

An Australian rebel; passed down from Grandmother
to Father, and then to me.

Please visit all the other White Wednesday gals at
Faded Charm hosted by Kathleen.

Just beautiful! The more I *know* you the more I seem to have in common with you. I ADORE pitchers, although mine tend to be more funky colored!

Oh, I do have a soft spot for these old pitchers. I have quite a few also and have decided to purge for my next sale and only keep the older ones that I really love.

I do wish we lived closer so I could invite you over to sit a spell on my porch. The things we would have to talk about.

Take care,

Kathleen

Hi Z dear,
Oh my gosh!!! I am in cream and crazing heaven over here just looking at this post! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE white and cream pitchers. What a beautiful collection. Okay, now I think (even though I ADORE you) I'm am letting envy creep in a bit. These are so hard to find here and now I know why...because SUZAN has them all!

Are you keeping up with everything? Sadly I am not. I am going to do one more post and then take a looong blog break. I have to catch up on some painting I have been doing here in the garden and the house, and then the weeds are starting to get crazy again. My SIL is dying. The DR. is giving her about 2 weeks to a month. I need to take care of some things.
It feels like I have been on the computer for 4 days straight! While I LOVE it...I am falling so far behind in other things.

I am so excited about having this experience with the studio. But I am really excited knowing that you are too. Isn't it so cool???
hugs to you dear one...

I have a slight fetish for pouty white pitchers as well. Your collection is lovely. I wish I had a few more shelves built to house them all ~ Happy WW!

I love your collection of ironstone pitchers! "She" only has 11 but just as well I suppose. Now if "she" was willing to fill them ALL with creme and milk.....Howie, do you think OldGreyMare would do that for us?!? Might have to call the milkman for special delivery but we'd be worth it, right?!

I hope you are both having a great evening!

Purrs!

I love the pitchers. I too have a few but not nearly as many as those. I must say the imperfect ones are usually my favorite, crazed, slightly off color, they are loved.
