Oh Happy Day!

The world is being kind to me today.
The first season of The Newsroom is on today,
great background for more purging and cleaning.

The second season begins tonight.
WoOt!
Being driven mad by promos for tonight's
 True Blood and The Newsroom!
I watch very little TV.
What I do watch is addicting.

It is five days until
Dearest Son and his Sweetie arrive.
WoOt wOoT!

I am beyond excited.
I will turn 60 this weekend and Ben is
driving up to fix me dinner!
How lovely is that?

My brother Scott turns 61 the day before.
Happy Birthday Bro!
Not that he ever reads my blog....

I have a new chair to use to plant my butt
for watching the shows tonight.
I sold my floral sofa and chair to a good pal
and they are happily ensconced in her new pad.
The cute little ottoman was on clearance (34.00) at
Target.. It opens up to store this week's
 stack of library books.

The chair came via Home Goods.
It was already a great deal and it
was already dirty. I hate how most furniture
is dirty there thanks to unruly kids
NOT being watched by indifferent parents.
(topic for another day)

Anyhoot I brought the dirt up
to a manager and got another deep discount.
Don't want to tell you how little I paid.
I'm known for getting kick ass deals
that make my friends go
Aw damn!
Yes, the dirt came out.
I love it.
The sides are some kind of paisley "pleather".
Because it is half the size of previous chair and ottoman,
it makes the room feel larger.

Son and Sweetie are coming in five days.

Her first time here,
wonder what she'll think of Ben's homestead?
Your home does reveal a lot about you;
what does mine say... hmmm?
His old room is now the guest room,
so very little of his youth to discover there.
I do have his Magic and Pokemon cards still
under the bed though...
We are more likely to drink wine and
nibble cheese than play card games I'll bet.

So purging and cleaning all day - Love It!
Great TV all day - Love It!
Great TV tonight - Love it
New Chair - Love It!

Son and sweetie will be here soon - ADORE It!

Told you it was a Happy Day!

Oh Z, I love it when I hear you so happy in the SUMMER for crying out loud!!
Must tell you... Today is the last day of my vacation and I finally convinced the husband to co-operate on purging his dressers and closet so he can actually store his clothes inside instead of on top. Five big boxes/bags headed to donation. My work here is done. I am happy, too.

Yay for Happy Day! I did some more shopping for essentials for my new place (broom, mop, etc) and got a great discount on it all! Yay! I'm looking for a chair and I really like yours. I didn't see anything that nice at my local Home Goods, I guess I'll just have to keep looking. I am loving my new sofa though! So happy your son and his sweetie are coming to visit!
hugs,
Linda

She will love it! Sounds like it will be a wonderful time. Hey if you pull out those Pokemon cards, I'll pull out my daughter's and we can square off. Forget it. I have no idea about those cards, just couldn't toss them out.

Love the chair and I relish finding a nick or dirt because then it says "bargain for me"!!! Ann

Happy Birthday a few days early in case I forget:-)
I have been purging all weekend, seems weight loss and clutter don't like each other, feels good to be losing the weight and the junk!
Love that ottoman!

I watch so little TV that I'm curious as to what is "good". What channel is the News Room on? I've been thinking of renting the seasons of Mad Men. I guess I'm just a nerd with my nose in a book most of the time!

Love the new chair...so comfy looking. You are going to have a blast with your son and his girl...whats not to love about you?! Hubby just turned 60 a few weeks ago...Happy, healthy and filled with more energy than I could ever wish for! Happy Birthday to you, Z, and many more!

XO,
Jane

So glad today is a "Happy Day" for you! Looks like a comfy chair and ottoman to put you feet up and enjoy a good book or TV show.

Happy Birthday early and so glad your son and his girlfriend can be there to share it with you:-)

Hope you are staying cool. As for me, I'm loving our 80 degree weather and have been getting lots done out in my yard and garden this past week getting ready for My Mom's 70th birthday party at our house in a couple weekends.

Take care,
Kathleen
