Candlelight, Coffee and Comfort

My first cup of coffee in days.
Did not want to confuse meds and caffeine.
I am confused enough as it is.

This is my favorite table...ever...
I work here
 eat here
 visit here
These edges are dreamy

Never far from me,
Miss Justice
doing her morning toilette
hoping toast bits will come her way.
Sadly, no toast just now,
just coffee and candlelight.

Needing to be even closer,
Master Howie
asking to be allowed into my lap.

Not until I finish my coffee
in my favorite mug
...for now
The perfect curve to cradle my left hand
 around it's warmth
while the right hand
slips effortlessly through the handle
for a secure grip.
1971
an important year
for me to be sure.

Such comfort to me after weeks of illness.
My memory bowl
my table
hazelnut fragrance
best mug
and
the pooches

in my little world
it is enough
it is, in fact,
glorious

I'm a new follower, and so very glad I am. Love your photos, so glad you're feeling better! It's amazing how being sick colors your world in a negative perspective...really makes you appreciate good health!
I love the chippy too, I'd love a table like that one but my dh hates chippy.....:(

Oh I hate to hear you've been ill!!!! I do love those first few minutes of the morning... Coffee & puppy kisses sound very framiliar to me! Miss Elle & I start our day with coffee on the loveseat & a cookie for her. Love the warm tones of your photos on this post. Saw you in the Where Women Create Magazine. WHAT A STAR you have become. But, I knew that all along... After all I think I've been reading/following/emailing with you for well over a year. The holidays whiped my backside but, I'm trying to get back in the swing. Miss all my blogging buddies & I hope you will come by for a visit. GET WELL SOON! HUGS!

What a sweet post. I wish I could write like this, but I just sort of let it all tumble out and the words land wherever. Your post seems so well thought out and gentle, if that makes any sense.

Sounds like you are on the mend Z.
A friend passed along a HUGE starbucks mug to me over the holidays (said it wasn't her style??). It's a little large for tea or coffee, for me anyway, but it makes the most perfect soup mug.
Nice to hear you up and about.

Hi Z,
I love starbucks mugs, but being the strict everything must match in the kitchen gal I soon discard them...When the hubby is not home,(thank goodness racing season starts soon) I love candlelight, NO TV BLARRING, and coffee, nice and strong with heavy whipping cream..it is heaven I tell you!!
Glad to hear you are on the mend!

You are sounding a little better.I hope you are back to your "old grey mare" self.
I think we all have a favorite mug.
Mine is one from Anthropology...big, with a no-tip bottom and heavy, but comfortable in the hand. Yes, these are the little pleasures.
I love the way Howie looks at you, (I always think of my girfriend Debbies husband...his name is Howie).
He also has this soulful look, saying, somebody have pitty and feed me, please....
Isn't Carole a miracle worker? She is calling me tomorrow with more things to learn. That girl has patience like a saint!!!!
Happy you two had a great chat.
Many hugs my dear,
Evi
