Goodness knows I can easily find negatives
about living where I do,
being a country, four seasons kind of gal.
But there is goodness here.
And luscious, delectable, mouth dropping
beauty to be found in unexpected places.
Imagine being able to open your
mailbox once a month to a package
such as this...
or this...
Or purchase art creations like these pincushions.
I had heard of the "Ribbon Lady"
for many years and various
friends had offered to take me there
and introduce us, but the timing was always off,
and the "meeting" eluded me. A month ago I finally
succeeded in meeting Carole Sidlow,
and today I spent even more time at her amazing home.
I would show home pictures but I cannot. I was there to take pre-view pics for a wonderful stylist considering Carole's home for publications.
Once they are published, I will link you for sure :D
Carole's ribbon store is located in her
over sized studio behind her home.
There isn't a ribbon she does not carry
or in person by appointment only.
You CA gals who visit here on weekends,
be sure and bookmark this info!
Even better, everyone can join her
This is not like other clubs. Carole and her dear friend Laura personalize each kit to your desires, colors, widths, yardage, usage, vintage, new, trims etc...
Not just an identical box that dozens of others receive.
Each one made specifically for you doll makers,
quilters, scrap-bookers, milliners.
Joining the club, also earns you discount from retail.
Stop the drooling, it really is that wonderful!
I cannot yet bring myself to open the packages of hand pleated ribbons I have purchased from her.
They are works of art just as they are.
( be sure and check those out too!)
A small portion of the Ribbon Store
I have an inspirational place to shop,
two wonderful new friends, and the world is good.
So, where have I been?
just busy...
1.put my design and organizing services on sale,
so clients signing up for the "discount".
2. repaired most of the broken stuff from 2 weeks ago.
3. Held garage sale Saturday to sell off some extras
to raise funds for DD's apt in NYC this fall.
4. Preparing for photo shoot at the end of July,
(too many embarrassing dust bunnies)
(actually dog fur bunnies...dust doogies?)
5. Just enjoying the time with darling daughter.
etc etc etc
Still reading you all, and visiting as I can.
What a summer this is!
Anyone else miss the playlists?
Dang Lowe's for advertising on them.
I miss discovering new songs on your blogs :(

This looks like ribbon heaven! And it makes me wish I were more creative!
I have been missing you but figured you were busy during these dog days of summer. Have a great time with your DD and all of your upcoming fun!
XO,
Jane
I meant to say that I am getting those ads on playlist, too. I thought I was the only one. It's very obtrusive.
XO,
Jane
This is such a busy summer:) LOVE that ribbon store. You would find me buried under rolls and rolls of ribbon with a big 'ole smile on my face:)

I was just thinking today you hadn't posted for so long - wondering of the fires were affecting you or the repairs were overwhelming... so glad to hear you're busy with life and doing fine.
The ribbon is fabulous and I think I am about to venture forth to their website - ribbon is a big weakness for me, especially pleated and embroidered ones. I can't begin to imagine what an inspirational visit you must have had!
GEEZ OH PETE!!! What an absolutely amazing store! Rught behind her house, that is just so cool. I will have to check her out and bookmark her store. I have a weakness for all things pleated and ruffly you know ;)
Glad all is well, will visit again soon... t. xoxoxoox
This place is like a dream come true!
I have such an addiction to ribbon...I can see being in ALOT of trouble here!
I see so many wonderful things that I think need to be here in my studio!
I knew you had been busy...just know I am thinkin' about cha!
Take care of you!
Hugs,
Donna
I occasionally go into Mokuba in Toronto and spend an hour just selecting a yard of ribbon. Such skill goes into the design and fabrication.
Glad you are busy and enjoying DD.
Talk soon.
Scrumptious ribbon! The shop is extraordinary..what a great place to visit.
and how cool is a Ribbon of the month club!
i do miss your music
love marcia
Carole has been a dear friend for many years, and you cannot imagine my delight when reading this particular post. Bella!!
OMG, the ribbons, the ribbons!!! How beautiful to look out, how lucky you are to go to her shop. So glad the Ribbon Lady is on the web, I am running there right now! Thanks a bunch (of ribbons!) for this post, especially since you are so busy, too!!
I was glad to see you this morning! You have been busy! Can't wait to see more of this beautiful shop! (...I have dust doggies too!)

Oh my i would be touching all of it. I've never seen a store like that.....except tinsel trading.
Adore those pincushions. Little works of art!

Those ribbons look amazing from what I could view. (terrible slow internet). I could be a ribbon lady because I have SO MUCH that I don't even use anymore. Need to do something with it. lol.
Blessings~
I am in love...ribbon has always lured me and now I see a craft that maybe, just maybe I can do. Those pincushions are works of art to be treasured by anyone lucky enough to have one! Your blog transports me to a Happy Place!

Hi Suzan
Love these ribbons.. especially that first boxful of green.. fabulous!!! I could have some fun with that.. I tend to save any ribbons that passes my way so this could be dangerous.. hehe
Hope you are having a lovely week... albeit a busy one!! ciao xxx Julie
Ummmm....could you pass me some smelling salts?....or maybe a big glass of cold water?....the heavenly world of ribbon was too much for "her", as "she" has a huge weakness for ribbon, which causes weakness of the knees. Sad but true.
LMAO regarding "dog bunnies"!
Purrs and whisker tickles.
Romeo and "her"
Nothing like Carol...nothing like her ribbon!

Hey Z
I have a weakness for ribbon as many of us do, but no longer having the store I cannot justify it. It is another vice gone by the wayside... I really use little ribbon, I just love to see it piled up and draping off reels... sick I know.
Have a wonderful weekend
Blessings

I just died and went to heaven!!!!!!!!!!
Think I am going to move.
Beats Tinsel Trading, and that is not easy to do!

OMG!!! I wish I could visit in person. On line will just have to do for now. Thank you so much for sharing. Love the studio, the shop, the ribbon, the creations...so fun.
Lisa B told me about your beautiful ribbons & suggested I check out your blog. Beautiful!
I lived in Las Vegas for years and I have been to Carole's shop and home several times over. What a lovely lady Carole is and She opens her house for you to see all the wonderful antiques in every room. Her Lady Pillows in the dinning room are to die for.
I just moved to Texas a few months ago SOOOOOOOO! I probably won't get back to Carole's in awhile. I will be there the next time we go back to Vegas to visit our daughter and friends. I still have some of her wonderful ribbons, etc etc. I can always go to her site and order more. :-)
Carole, her shop and home should be published in a magazine.
I enjoyed looking at your blog. I found it through Las Vegas Silver Doll-Ers emails to me. A friend of mine and I started the Las Vegas Silver DOll-Ers doll club. It's still my baby even though I don't live there anymore.
Enjoy Creating,
