The heat is upon us and it is hibernation time for me.
Lucky me, I like my hibernation den.
This time of year the light hits the woods in a certain way
and it makes me so happy.
I am saddened by so much, as so many are,
and the only way that I can absorb the sorrow and
not drown in it, is to be at home;
to love on Walter, check on friends and
be grateful for my family and my safe space.

I read your post via the photos before the words and the first and most visceral reaction was the way the light played in your space...and the peace it imbued. And, yes, the person who does not feel an overwhelming need for that now has no soul. How I would love to walk through your "den" and learn the stories behind its accoutrements. They are beautiful, quirky, earthy, and soulful....much as I have come to know you to be. .... I still have the heat on although braved a few hours today without it so I could open the windows...but the wind was chill so it did not last long. They keep saying the warmth is coming...and I keep believing...and waiting. ~Robin~
You have a beautiful place to hibernate.
I love your home Z ..... and that rug with the script ..... I want one !!! XXXX
Great pics! You have such a lovely home. I stay close to the roost too. But we are venturing out to the coast next week. I will love seeing my ocean again. You take care. Give Walter the Weirdo a kiss for me on those crazy eyebrows. Kit
