Lighten Up

It's time to lighten up your home
your spirits
your perspective

Let some nature in, even if
the nature is paper, tin or concrete

Add a little whimsey and fun
even if you still see only white outside

My roses have arrived

Little darling it's been a long cold lonely winter
Little darling it feels like years since it's been here

Here comes the sun, here comes the sun
And I say it's all right

humming it all day

I have tulips owing up, violets blooming, shamrocks leaning towards the sunny window. Its cloudy and rainy outside, but the sun is shining in here! Lucky me I get to go to work today and work in the greenhouse!
Love your bunnies. I have a little collection of them I put out yesterday. Nothing says spring like a bunny!

Oh your roses!! Fabulous! I know you pay for early (for me) roses with very hot summers, but right now I would give anything to be sitting on your patio looking at and smelling those roses.

You are so lucky to have those splendid roses! It is all grey and cold here in Engalnd, and nothing is blooming yet but snowdrops. Love your images, very inspiring. x

I loved seeing your ironstone pitchers. I too have a collection of them at my house. This is my first time commenting, although I have subscribed to your blog for some time now. I first came across it when the name caught my attention. You see, when my Dad was in the Air Force, he had sent a Valentine's Day card to my Mom, his then girlfriend, which stated to My Old Grey Mare??? We teased him about that a lot. He just passed away this past Christmas Eve and whenever one of your posts show up in my email, I feel like I'm getting a visit from him as well. Thank you for that!

Oh Donna, thank you for commenting and telling me that story. It's why I continue to blog. The connections between folks are often so precious and genuine.

You are a no reply blogger so I must respond here..next time perhaps leave me a way to contact you? Have a lovely week. <3

Love that song... sounds morbid, perhaps, but if I were to have a funeral, I would want it playing as everyone left - wouldn't that be cool???
Anyway, yes, time to lighten up. I have summer pillows and summer candles and it's just about time for the great switchover... and yes, a summertime beverage - since the rules of white seem to have left, I think summer and winter drinks are the new de rigeur...
