Wet Bird & Dog Poop

So I don't write for weeks and when I do?
I title it wet bird and dog poop.
sigh
What can I say?
It's just the way this noggin functions.

It rained.
LOTS
and lots and lots
Parts of the city are flooded
All the streets are flooded.
Never fear - way typical for lala land.
Looked out the studio window and saw this poor fella
perched and enduring the rain.
Normally I would not have been able to see but
the center of all the ash trees in lala land are sick,
so poor tree, poor dove, but lucky shot :D

No phone, no cable, no internet all morning.
Kinda nice. Played music full blast.
My Sharona, Hooked on a Feeling, Lady Willpower
Channeling my youth...
bringing up memories.
It is visceral to me.
If I'm not careful, the wrong song slips in,
and I spiral to another place.
Not wise on a gloomy day.

The rain on the tin roof on the porch is
 a glorious sound.
Called DD in NYC and held the phone up
so she could hear "home".
She said she wished the sleep sofa was still out there.
We used to race to open it and pile on
when the rains began ...way back in the day.
Grateful for the memories.

oh and the poop?
well some of you may recall that Howie
marches to the beat of a different drummer.
a very backward marching, off tune, out of step
drummer.

When Howie becomes frightened,
by oh, lets say
THUNDER

He has the shit scared out of him.

LITERALLY folks.

Shoots out the back like a cannon
and you had better be up range.

I love the rain! The poop canon, not so much! Love listening to music that takes me back to my younger, wilder days! Hugs, Linda

You are hilarious!!! So glad you're finally getting some rain and a little reprive from all that heat. We are already cooling off...what???? Didn't the heat just start?

I guess us girls are never satisfied:-)

Hope all is well,

You are crazy you know that right? haha Rain and poop I guess it goes together. One washes away the other....good thing. Too bad Howie didn't have his accident outside.
I love it when it rains and I'm in the greenhouse....it's like a train going by it's so loud.
Wonderful when a song can bring you back so many years ago. Great post.

Let's hope that the storms are over !!!! haha
I'm sure that you are pleased about the rain as things must be a lot cooler now. We have had a very rainy Summer then, by much fortune, it cleared up for the Olympics. We have a Bank Holiday approaching so, rain is forcast again .... typical !! XXXX

So glad I'm not the only one who is sporadically blogging this summer! Beautiful pic of the dove and I have dogs afraid of thunder as well, but haven't actually had that wonderful experience happen (knock on wood)!
My Sharona...lol! xo

Dear Suz, you are completely and utterly hysterical!! Always bring me, to laughing out loud here, by myself! I have been posting sporadically too...seems like a general hush out there...is it the summer or is everybody on Facebook and Pinterest?? Just wondering...I have been hyperventilating most of the time with this renovation...you are always a breath of fresh air....or maybe stinky, this time...lol. N.xo

oh my gosh, that last part about your dog was hysterical. I'd try and keep him as "calm" as possible.

We have a tin roof too, and it is kinda fun to hear the rain on it...except sometimes it can get REALLY LOUD.

Hey Girlie
We need the rain... the poop you can have!
Sorry I have been mia again but life gets in high gear.
I am having computer problems again, I closed a flash drive cover in my laptop and broke the screen... 200 bucks to fix it, brought it in and the cd quit on me also so I said forget it, not worth fixing... barely two years old... so I have my lap top hooked up to a monitor on my kitchen table, saving for a new one but in the meantime when I travel no computer. Things are good, we had a nice reprieve with the hot weather here but the heat is back this week. It is still August - just seems like the summer has been a long August. This comment is getting way too long
Hope you have a wonderful weekend... call me, let's catch up!
Blessings
