Nothing is Safe

Nothing is safe around here.
From the purge/tidy monster.

Not pantry, utensil drawer,
fridge or laundry room.

Not obsessively clean, but frequently tidy,
that's me.

A little known fact about this gal.
I came within a whisper of joining the military.
Yep, me! Took the tests and everything.
I was floundering post college days
and the regimen appealed to me.
Gosh, ya think?

I still like everything lined up in neat rows,
bedding tucked snug,
mirrors polished.

I hear my Dad's voice
"A place for everything and everything in its place."
Pop was a fan of Ben Franklin,
(but there is no definitive proof he was the first to say this,
I checked)

I guess this Mackintosh did not fall far from the tree.

Tidy
It makes me happy.
It makes my life
easy and simple.

I step back and inspect,
"ahh, now that's better"

oh crap..thunder...

Looks all spit and polished...and organized too! I thought about joining the military as well, my roommates did NOT appreciate the Marine Corps JAG recruiter who called every other day! I hope that Howie wasn't too afraid of the storm.

Jesus!! That's is soooo wonderfully organized and beautiful and sooo distant from my pantry or fridge!! I can't picture you in the force, but let's say that I can imagine you being part of Martha Stewart's battalion. And thatt's a good thing!!!!!!!!

OHHH MMMMMM GEEEEEE Seriously, is that your home???? I have never seen anything so neat in my life. If you saw my pantry right now you would have tears streaming down your cheeks! And my laundryroom? I don't even know what to say. It looks awesome and you have inspired me. Next time I am up at 3:00 a.m. which could be tonight I am going to tackle one of my rooms. Then I will post it....maybe;)Awesome job! The military would have loved you!

well...I am CALMER when things are orderly. It is a totaly sense of peace for me.
My hubby however. total opposite.
I am the drill master, and he is the rookie. (tee, hee)
We have only been married for 3 years and there is a lot of bachelor habits to break.

very impressive! I try to be like that, but it never seems to last.
I am doing the simplify thing as soon as the summer is over. I took a booth at a store that I actually left and I'm going to really start selling a lot of my stuff....simplify....my new motto. I guess everyone reaches that point eventually, especially when you get old like me!

Hi Z,
very impressive....wish I could be like that. I try but it doesn't last.
After Labor Day, though, I am going room by room and simplifying. I took a spot in a co-op I used to be in so I can sell stuff. Can't wait to get organized.
You are inspiration!

I would be so embarrassed if you saw my pantry! You have inspired me to clean it out this weekend! I already have the baskets and labels..just never got around to actually using them!
Hope Howie has calmed down!

Ah, lovely and tidy, but I've got news for you, dear one...it IS a tad obsessive. :-) How long's it been since you've been out of that house over there, since I left? Talk at ya' soon - put down the cleaning supplies and get down to The Strip...Carole M. wants me to tell you there is an All Saints Spitalfields in Vegas...like she thinks you'll go, or something! XOXOXO

Have to chuckle about what Tanya wrote. Yes we were teasing you about how you never leave the house:) so that's why you never mentioned All Saints being in Vegas.
Ok I was going to mention your post.....>(*^ ? You have a real gift girl you should be making more money going this. Put adsense on your bloggy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh gosh Suzan, I think I've said it before but again, you would just CRINGE and roll over and play dead in my house. My frig for starters. I see a little space on a shelf and what ever is in my hand is positioned in front and then pushed until all the other items re position themselves and the new to be stored item in the frig is sitting in the front. Just a little shoving and all the frig items obey. That's more my style of taking charge. Works for awhile. Now to read the next post. :)
