Back in the Groove

Three months and I barely set foot in the studio.
I've been in withdrawal.
So I consciously made myself go in and sit
there on Saturday and see if I could muster up
some enthusiasm. I began by puttering a bit,
and cleaning up some drawers and came across a
pre-cut kit from a class I taught many years ago.
Some Like It Hot was coming on TV, and I figured I had about 90 minutes to occupy, so I settled in and made a sewing kit.
Paula, look away, I know how you feel about blanket stitch.
:D

 WOOL
Sewn entirely by hand
and done in about 100 minutes.
(I ran down and made a snack
 of hummus and chips )

Joining up with Kathleen for
Haven't been able to do that for ages either.
Hiya Kathleen!

will have the sewing kit and other
items in the shop soon.
The studio misses me and I
"plan" to get back in the groove.
(barring life getting in the way again)

  4. "Life" sure does have a way of messing up our fun! I love your creation. There's just something about hand sewing that is therapeutic. Unfortunately, I have neuropathy in my hands as well as a bit of carpal tunnel, so I have a hard time sewing. Sure wish I could come to your class.....I know it will be so much fun.
    Have a terrific Tuesday,

  7. I love it! I know that when I can't create, I'm just not myself... and the alter ego that takes over is not a happy girl! as busy as you are between this and the nest, I'd say your still crafting away! t.xoxo

  8. Life does sometimes get in the way doesn't it. I seem to have to be "in a happy place" to be able to be creative and I certainly have times when it just can't happen.

Since I don't sew, the fact that you did such a cute project in 100 minutes amazes me!

  17. It has been a long time but what a pretty way to ease back in to it - love the blanket stitch!
Sometimes it feels like there is some sort of conspiracy keeping me from me from my sewing room - most annoying!

  21. Want me to stand guard so that life doesn't come barging in and interrupting important studio time? I'd do it for you, ya know that don't you? Certainly life wouldn't be so stupid as to mess with the ferocious man Romeo. Would it? Besides, you create some of the bestest stuff, and those interruptions in your studio time deprive the rest of us droolers (over your creations)....

    Purrs!

  22. That came out great Suzanne! I have been having the opposite problem. I am spending way to much time in my studio and neglecting cleaning my house. And ya know what? I don't feel the least bit guilty! LOL I actually feel very happy that I am finally creating. I really need to. Of course I need to clean too but I do that every day so a few days off is a good thing. We all need to take time for ourselves from time to time don't we:) Happy Easter to you and your family:)
