Doily Garland

Inspired by a doily garland
I spoke of HERE, I began this.

I don't know where it will eventually hang and
there is more of it than you see here.

I'm loving it and so glad it is made.

My favorite: I am amazed at what these women used to create.

  1. You are a busy sewer and it is pretty. Where is it going? Have you measured it's length? ♥O

  2. That is beautiful! What a gorgeous idea, I am always amazed at the time and effort women put into making the crocheted goodness now at the thrift store. I just found a doily that my 'bushie' made that is the picture of a deer, it is amazing! I think I want to frame it so that we can admire her handywork all of the time. I would love to know where you will end up hanging your banner. (inquiring minds need to know!) Theresa xoxo

  24. That's so pretty! I also enjoyed (bittersweet) your beautiful essay on your mother. I'd say you have a life lesson learned. So sad to think of the possibility that could have been had the illness not occurred. However, here you are, living life, being content, making art. Can't ask for much more than that! Congratulations on letting go and being grateful for what is rather than dwelling on what wasn't.

    Take care,
    Judy

  45. I do remember those doilies. And a certain stormy morning, if I'm not mistaken. It reminds me of young girls in white dresses, holding hands and dancing.
